Revival of God’s Word in Our Lives

Meaning of “revival” – a powerful spiritual awakening or renewal within individuals or a group of believers, often involving a return to God, a renewed sense of commitment, and a deeper spiritual experience; a spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy, or stagnation in the life of a believer.

If we want to open the door to revival?  We must first open the Word of God— A God awakening always includes one vital ingredient, it is centered on the Word. God’s Word brings guidance, truth, and spiritual life—transforming us as we are obedient to what is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. The Word is like a refiners “fire” (symbolizing power: to purify, illuminate, and transform); it will start a fire in us and it will also ignite those embers in our hearts that may be about to go out (Jeremiah 23:29a - ....Is not My Word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]?...)  The Word is like “water” it washes us deep down inside our souls...Ephesians 5:26 - ...cleanse her by the washing of the water of the Word.  The Word is like a “hammer” it can demolish every obstacle and stronghold in our lives - Jeremiah 23:29b....and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]?

1 Thessalonians 2:13 (VOICE) – So we have good reason to give thanks to God without pausing. For you have taken into yourselves the Word of God we brought to you and received it as a message from God—not just something whipped up by someone like you or us—and that Word is at work in you who believed.

The Word is powerful. It will affect our entire being: spirit, soul, and body -  Hebrews 4:12-13 (VOICE)12 The Word of God, you see, is alive and moving; sharper than a double-edged sword; piercing the divide between soul and spirit, joint and marrow; able to judge the thoughts and will of the heart. 13 And before Him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eye of the One to whom we must render an account.

No life without the Word—it’s our sustainer – Matthew 4:4 (AMP) – But Jesus replied, It is written and forever remains written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. John 6:35 (GNT) – I am the bread of life, Jesus told them.  Those who come to Me will never hunger; those who believe in Me will never become thirsty. Psalm 19:7 (AMPC) – The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. Jeremiah 15:16 (NLT) – When I discovered Your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear Your name.  Psalm 119:81 (NKJV) – I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life.

The Word is what we are to conform to; it washes our mind of all filth, bringing spiritual and natural changes in our lives.  Without the Word, we will find ourselves conforming to the dictates of this world – Romans 12:2 (AMPC) – Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and it new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

Declaration:  As You did for Your disciples on the road after Your resurrection Lord Jesus, we ask You Holy Spirit to supernaturally unlock our understanding to receive revelation of the scriptures...Let the Word of Christ live in us richly, flooding us with all wisdom.....Luke 24:45 (TPT); Col.3:16 (TPT).           I will lay up these Words of Yours in my heart and in my soul, and I shall bind them as a sign on my hand, and they shall be as front-lets between my eyes (Deuteronomy 11:18 (ESV).

We are praying for – the passion for God’s Word to be ignited/reignited in us.  James 4:8 (ESV) – Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
