The following was taught and prayed through during our 9:30 a.m. family prayer time with Sue DeGroot

Excerpt from Tony Cooke’s, Grace, the DNA of God (chapter 14 Strengthening Grace)

Strengthening grace is God’s power and ability to energize and inspire us to live victoriously, to reign over the challenges and circumstances of life.
Strengthening grace keeps us from being defeated.
Strengthening grace is the impartation of God’s might. Strengthening grace is Love Empowering.

God’s grace is a source of strength to believers
He has an ever-present and abundant supply of His might for us. No doubt many believers, when faced with the drain and the weariness life brings, have personalized Philippians 4:13 and declared with the apostle Paul, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”It is important to note that this verse does not say, “I can do all things through him who strengthened me,” past tense, as though God had just given us one, limited dose of strength that has to last us for a lifetime. The verb strengthens denotes continuous action. That’s a pretty amazing concept! Christ is infusing strength in Paul all the time, and I don’t believe He is a respecter of persons. If He constantly infused Paul with strength, then He is constantly infusing strength in you and me.

2 Corinthians 12:9, notice the correlation between grace, strength, and power. “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
The Lord speaks in the first part, and Paul speaks in the last part. They use these three terms interchangeably: My grace (the Lord’s grace) My strength (the Lord’s strength) The power of Christ.

When we are proud, self-reliant, and self-sufficient, we do not yield to the strengthening grace of God. We walk in our natural ability instead the power of God’s strengthening grace.

The ideal lifestyle for a Christian is to abide in Jesus 24-7, to continually receive His infusion of strengthening grace and walk in an ongoing awareness of His presence and His work. Then, when a crisis does arise, we have no hindrance in receiving His strength for the situation. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We prayed that the families of Eagles Nest would receive His grace for the times that we are in regarding the changes that COVID 19 has brought into our lives/workplaces/schooling/homes etc.
